It was an absolute delight for our students and staff alike to have the opportunity to watch the mesmerizing bharatanatyam dance performance by the renowned artist Arupa Lahiry. This was a SPIC MACAY lec-dem performance where she portraed the ten Dashavatara incarnations of lord Vishnu. Her precise movements, sharp edges, and expressive body language brought these timeless stories to life, creating a spiritually uplifting atmosphere. Ms. Lahiry then explained some of the simple ‘hastas’ (gesture) and the students were delighted to perform these with her on the stage. Her rendition of Vande Mataram as a finale was exquisite.
