The Outreach Programme (in rural areas) constitutes our off campus SE activities. The programme is bifurcated into an Out-reach Type A, Out-reach Type B and Out-reach Type C. Outreach programmes are closely coordinated with the civil administration. Outreach A has permanent staff members allotted in location whereas Outreach B is conducted by deploying mobile teams comprising staff as required from RAPHAEL.

The focus of Out-reach A is increasing awareness about disability related issues; care-giver counselling & empowerment; and assessment & programme implementation. Out-reach A currently covers five blocks – Raipur, Vikasnagar, Sahaspur, Kalsi and Doiwala - in the Dehradun district.

The focus of Out-reach B is advocacy - increasing awareness about persons with disability; educating resource persons and stake-holders; and the collection, collation and sharing of information and data of PwD for use by various government and non-government agencies. Out-reach B has covered 12 districts - Dehradun, Udhamsinghnagar, Uttarkashi, Tehri Garhwal, Haridwar, Bageshwar, Nainital, Almora ,Rudraprayag, Champawat, Chamoli and Pauri Garhwal. It seeks, eventually, to cover all 13 districts of the State in a phased manner.

The aim of Out-reach C is to establish centres in each district to reach out to children with special needs & their stakeholders and to provide them the necessary assistance at their door-step. Currently we have two centres one is Jakholi-Rudraprayag and other is in Nayagoan-Uttarakhashi. There are two trained resource persons to oversee the functioning of the centres.
