Shiva Sadan Resident Daulat Singh Passed Away

February 10, 2021

Daulat Singh, a long-time resident of Shiv Sadan passed away on the morning of 28th January 21, due to old age ailments. He is survived by his wife Usha and a daughter.

He was 80 years old and had come to Raphael in the year 1966 at the young age of 26. On contracting leprosy in his village in Pauri Garhwal, he came to Dehradun for treatment. After treatment he came to live in Raphael and started working in the weaving unit. He worked for many years in the weaving workshop and then helped the Quartermaster distributing rations to the residents. In 1971 he married another resident from Shiv Sadan, Usha and adopted a young girl who at present is working in a National Bank as a Manager.

He was a very learned man and would always be found reading books and magazines and sharing his thoughts with others. In fact he was quite a philosopher in his family and friends circle. The quest for knowledge remained the passion of his life till the end. He could talk about any subject be it philosophy-religion-politics.

He will be deeply missed by all on campus.
